TITUSVILLE, FL – Comp Air Aviation, plans to display, the Comp Air 6.2, at the Sun ‘n Fun Fly-in in Lakeland, Florida at Booth MD 7-B. When it was first introduced at Sun ‘n Fun 2022, the 6 place Comp Air 6.2 was just a fuselage with some big promises. Development has continued for the past year, and the 6.2 is just days away from landing in Lakeland to make its first public appearance.
The display aircraft is powered by a 350 horsepower, twin turbo Lycoming engine with a Hartzell composite “Top Prop”. Equipped with 100 gallons of fuel, it will take you 840 Nautical Miles while cruising at 175 knots with a 2000 pound useful load and a 22 cubic foot baggage compartment.
For those looking for even more power and payload capacity, a 650 horsepower turbine powerplant option is available, which can increase the aircraft’s useful load to over 3500 pounds and cruise speed to 230 knots. The extra power will have added benefits of being able to access remote destinations which may not have av-gas available.
The Comp Air 6.2 was designed to carry passengers or cargo with maximum efficiency. Its lightweight and aerodynamic airframe, constructed of carbon fiber skins, reduces drag and increases fuel efficiency while providing a strong yet lightweight structure for maximum performance. Making it an ideal aircraft for those who need a versatile plane that can transport family or cargo with ease.
The experimental kit comes complete with most of the structural assembly and laminations already completed. The goal of the CA6.2 kit was to make completion of the aircraft as easy as possible for the builder, resulting in a more enjoyable experience. The retail price for the complete airframe kit is $327,000, with several builder assist options available. Information about the complete airframe kit, and options will be available at the show, as well as www.compairaviation.com. Visitors at the show should ask about Sun ‘n Fun promotional pricing.
Attendees of Sun ‘n Fun 2023 are invited to visit Booth MD 7-B to get an up-close and personal look at the Comp Air 6.2 to learn more about its features and capabilities.
